From The Telegraph:

Homosexual soldiers are to be paid travelling expenses to attend Gay Pride parades, while troops are not allowed to claim for trips to the Queen's Garden Party.

Gay troops have been told they can submit claims for their car mileage or train tickets to marches in London on Saturday and in Brighton next month.

Heterosexual soldiers have criticised the move saying they are not allowed to claim money for trips to important functions, including the Queen's Garden Party.

It will also be the first time Army and RAF troops will be allowed to march in uniform, Royal Navy soldiers are already allowed.

My goodness, how unfair!

It's like telling a group of people they can't get married- and what backwards country would do such a thing?

Great, but seriously, what's up with the "breeders" bit?

This straight male intends to have kids at some point.

I don't have a problem with homosexuals marrying or doing any of the other things the rest of us do.  But derogatory language against us is stupidly offensive.

Re: Brit Soldiers Paid To Attend (none / 0)

I wonder if the author of the diary really meant it in a derogatory manner?

I know that I heard it and used it for a while before I found out anyone considered it offensive, and I still do use it in certain circles. It's more humorous than it is a slur, kind of in the same vein as calling a guy with only a right arm "Lefty" or referring to a white dude as "The Man." It's more just good natured joking among different kinds of people who are all on the same side.

Or maybe I just hang out with weird people.

I don't really get the cartoon (2.00 / 1)

Is "shot in the face" some kind of double entendre referring to the infamous "money shot"?

Also, who are these people and why are they killing Jews?
